Summary: Sulli doesn't listen to all the rumors about Amber leaving f(x).
Note: Redundant, now that Amber is back (fuck yeah!). Just another writing exercise.

Sulli doesn't read all the news about Amber's leave of absence, or listen to all the rumors that she's quit f(x). First of all, if Krystal caught her doing it, she would scoff and ask Sulli why she was wasting her time. And second of all, she doesn't want to believe them.

The managers keep reassuring all of them that Amber doesn't plan to quit. Victoria does, too, whenever she chooses to break the silence on that subject. Sulli thinks she talks about it with Nichkhun, who knows what it's like to lose a bandmate. But Victoria rarely ever says anything about it at home.

Sulli listens to everyone's reassurances and nods, like they mean something. But whenever she doubts, she reaches into her pocket and touches the ring that Amber gave to her before she left. It's nothing fancy, just a slim band of metal with a chain of interlocked hearts etched on it.

"Hold onto it for me until I come back, okay?" Amber said when she gave it to Sulli.

And because it is solid, because she can feel it cool her fingertips, Sulli takes comfort in the ring. She believes that as long as she carries it with her, Amber will come back to claim it and draw Sulli into a hug.

It's a promise.

Notes: The prompt was "strawberry jam." I was going to write something about Sulli bringing Amber breakfast in bed, but that changed. Another time, I guess. I was also going to title this "Love in the Time of Cholera," before realizing how ridiculous that was.
